JMK Solicitors and CRASH Services have become the first businesses in Newry to complete the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) RevivR CPR training.
The BHF’s RevivR programme enables organisations and individuals to learn CPR in 15 minutes for free, teaching users how to carry out chest compressions and use a defibrillator with confidence. The training was organised for the companies’ Health Month to provide the local staff with the skill and confidence to save a life.
There are around 1,400 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in Northern Ireland each year and, sadly, less than one in ten people survive. Performing CPR – cardiopulmonary resuscitation – and using a defibrillator when someone’s had a cardiac arrest can more than double their chances of survival.

“We are delighted to be the first organisations in Newry to provide the British Heart Foundation’s RevivR CPR training for staff.
“Looking after the health and wellbeing of our staff is really important to us. Therefore, when we realised how low the survival rate for out of hospital cardiac arrests locally was, we knew we had to take advantage of this fantastic free training from the BHF.
“RevivR took the fear out of learning CPR and the staff really enjoyed the session. The technology is really impressive, and the simplicity of the step-by-step training made us a lot more confident in knowing what to do should the worst happen. We are extremely grateful to the BHF for facilitating this vital CPR training.”
