Background
Kathy graduated from the University of Dundee before attending The College of Law Chester to complete her LPC.
Since joining in January 2009, Kathy has worked as part of JMK Solicitors in various teams including personal injury, High Court, and special damage teams.
Approach
Kathy approaches each case with empathy. She ensures clients feel listened to, valued, and cared for. She makes sure that each client knows they are getting the best possible service and advice so that they feel confident and secure in what can be a very traumatic and stressful time. Kathy takes the time to get to know each client and she works hard to ensure they are compensated.
Experience
- Acted on behalf of a client in a hit-and-run incident involving the MIB. Despite the MIB causing unnecessary hurdles and lengthy delays, Kathy worked tirelessly which involved having to appeal their decision to the arbitrator to secure a final award of £85k for her client.
- Acted on behalf of a client who had been involved in an accident with another vehicle whereby the driver of the vehicle denied involvement and the vehicle owner denied knowing the driver or that the vehicle was being used at the time of the accident. Kathy investigated the case and circumstances thoroughly to raise and test the key legal points to successfully secure an award for her client.
Outside of work
Outside of work, Kathy enjoys playing hockey for Dungannon Ladies. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
