Background

Prior to joining JMK Solicitors in January 2023 Gemma graduated from Queens University Belfast with a law degree before going on to obtain a post-graduate diploma in professional legal studies from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies.

Approach

Gemma likes to establish a personal rapport with her clients from the outset, helping her clients to feel more relaxed during what can be a particularly daunting time for a lot of people.

She aims to provide regular updates and encourages her clients to remain actively involved throughout the process so that they can truly feel included in what is ultimately their case.

She is keen on promoting client engagement by cutting through seemingly complex legal jargon and delivering her advices in an accessible and simple manner.

Gemma also understands that, following an accident, many people are keen to resolve their case as soon as possible so that they can move on from an undoubtedly stressful and, oftentimes, traumatic event. As such, she aims to resolve her clients’ cases as quickly and as positively as possible.

Experience

Having trained in general litigation, Gemma specialises in plaintiff litigation with a particular focus on road traffic collisions involving personal injuries.

Before training in litigation, Gemma gained experience interning at a general practice law firm in New York and has also interned with an international humanitarian charitable organisation.

Outside of work

Gemma enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the countryside and reading fantasy novels.
