Background
Ailis qualified as a Solicitor in 1992 from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies and brings a wealth of experience to her current role at JMK Solicitors. Specialising in personal injury law, Ailis is committed to achieving the best outcomes for her clients who have sustained injuries in road traffic accidents.
Before joining JMK Solicitors, Ailis had an extensive legal career. She was an accredited member of the Children’s Court Guardian Agency for Northern Ireland for 15 years, where she represented children in public family law and adoption proceedings. Additionally, Ailis was an accredited member of the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Children Order Panel for 20 years.
Ailis also served as Director of the Central Belfast Contact Centre for 7 years.
As a Law Society accredited Advanced Advocate, Ailis has extensive experience presenting cases before the Court, as well as working with leading experts to achieve the best results for her clients.

Having had the personal experience of having a close family member seriously injured in a road traffic accident, Ailis understands the worry and stress many clients may experience.
Ailis takes time to really get to know her clients and approaches her with a clam and reassuring presence. Like in the instance were she helped a client who had been injured in a violent incident at work. Ailis supported him throughout the process, negotiating with third party insurers to agree liability and secure the compensation he deserved.
Experience
- As part of the Specialist Litigation Team in JMK Ailis has:
- Acted for a large drainage company involved in a road traffic accident in the Republic of Ireland, securing a settlement which allowed them to replace their equipment and return to work quickly.
- Acted for a client and 5 young children who were all injured because of a road traffic accident which was not their fault. Liability was not admitted by the third party. Ailis managed to obtain a police report which led to an admission of liability and settlement for the client and their children.
- Acted for a client who was injured because of a violent incident at his place of work. Negotiated with the third-party insurers to agree liability and secure compensation for the client.
