I joined JMK Solicitors in August 2025 after studying the MLaw at Queen’s University Belfast and having previously worked in insurance. I am now an Apprentice Solicitor and have had the opportunity to work within both the Damage Only and Personal Injury teams.

Why did you choose the graduate programme at JMK Solicitors?
I chose the Graduate Programme at JMK Solicitors because it was a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience within a successful and well-established law firm. Having spoken to several people about JMK Solicitors before joining, I had heard consistently positive things about the training opportunities and the scope for professional development.
The opportunity to learn from experienced solicitors while gaining hands-on experience was particularly appealing to me, and I felt that JMK Solicitors would provide a strong foundation for my career in law.
What have you learnt?
I have gained a wide variety of experience since joining JMK Solicitors. I have been taught how to draft legal documents, attend court and participate in various client consultations. This has allowed me to develop both my legal knowledge and my confidence when dealing with clients and colleagues.
One of the things I have found particularly valuable is the structure at JMK Solicitors. There is a strong culture of sharing knowledge and experience between colleagues, which means that those who are new to the firm have the opportunity to learn from people with a wealth of legal expertise and experience.
What are the benefits of the Graduate Programme?

JMK Solicitors is a fast-paced, supportive and focused on development. There is a strong emphasis on work-life balance, alongside a clear commitment to supporting staff.
