Background
With more than 25 years of post-qualification experience, Sinead has gained in-depth expertise in personal injury and litigation in her role as a senior associate solicitor at JMK Solicitors.
She joined JMK Solicitors in June 2011 and is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and the Institute of Professional Legal Studies. After working across various areas of law including in family proceedings, domestic proceedings and magistrates’ courts, Sinead chose to focus on personal injury law.
Since 2013, Sinead has been recognised by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a Senior Litigator, and she has held the status of an Accredited Advanced Advocate since 2010.
Approach
Sinead takes a hands-on and direct approach with her clients, ensuring regular updates are provided.
She is committed to taking cases as far as they need to go and is confident in a courtroom setting. When preparing to bring a case to court Sinead is thorough and methodical in her preparation.

Experience
Since joining JMK Sinead has acted in cases which have had written judgements, dealing with, for example, During her career, Sinead, has handled sensitively and successfully several cases concerning families who have suffered bereavement due to the death of a family member from injuries suffered in a road traffic accident or accident at work
- Getting the liability/blame part of a case dealt with first to enable an interim payment application to be made
- A decision on value of personal injuries, which is used by other solicitors and barristers in negotiating values.
- Several appeals in relation to credit hire.
Outside of work
In her spare time, Sinead enjoys keeping fit and following the Down GAA team.
