About me
Why did you choose the apprentice programme at JMK?
I transferred my apprenticeship to JMK Solicitors because they specialise in personal injury and are the number 1 personal injury specialist in Northern Ireland.
This is an area I have worked solely in since graduating from my law degree and I want to continue to specialise in personal injury law. There is a wealth of knowledge among the legal advisors I now work and this is an invaluable opportunity for me to grow. Having spoken with employees at JMK, it was evident that they provide the resources to promote and support the growth of a trainee’s career and I really wanted to avail of this.
What have you learnt?
At JMK people are a priority – both clients and employees. JMK adopts measures to enable the firm to be at the forefront of what they do. Innovation is truly embraced through their advanced case management systems. Operating in such a progressive manner allows all staff to focus on the critical elements of the role. This also ensures people are supported at each and every stage of their claim and are dealing with legal advisors who maintain an understanding and caring approach.
Benefits to the apprentice programme at JMK?
There is the opportunity to be mentored by some of the most experienced and skilled personal injury solicitors and legal advisors. There is a support system in place for us to ensure we are guided throughout our traineeship. There is frequent training, so we are continually updating our knowledge and every niche area of personal injury law is explored. The experience and training opportunities throughout the apprenticeship encompass everything I need so there is no doubt that once I qualify I will be capable, confident, and trained extremely well.
What would you want a law student to know about working at JMK?
JMK will help, guide, and provide you with the tools to not only do your role to the best of your abilities but they to allow you to make sure that clients are a priority in any case.
How would you describe the culture at JMK
JMK are unique in that they truly value its people, both clients, and staff. Everyone at the firm has been extremely welcoming and they have a very down-to-earth approach which isn’t typical of a lot of law firms. Asking questions is very encouraged and there is always someone willing to help. We are encouraged to share new ideas.
